Communities
We've discovered numerous communities that have played crucial roles in our family's recovery and healing journey. Take a look at the groups that might be located near you!
Veterans Path to Hope

VPH’s programs are staffed by veterans and veteran-friendly individuals who have knowledge of the challenges that face veterans and demonstrate an individualized approach to each concern. Our community supports include the same: agencies, companies, civic groups, volunteers and donors who are willing to give their time, talent, and treasures on behalf of those who have served. Together, we transform lives through service to veterans.
Veterans Assistance Commission
of Cook County

Focusing on honoring and empowering the Veterans by providing compassionate, professional, and effective advocacy for the benefits and services they have earned through their military service.
We are dedicated to ensuring that every Veteran, surviving spouse, and family member has equitable access to federal, state, and local resources, including compensation, education, health care, housing, and emergency assistance.
Through outreach, education, and collaboration with community partners, VACCC strives to bridge gaps in awareness and accessibility, reaching underserved and at-risk Veteran populations across all neighborhoods of Cook County.
Guided by integrity, respect, and accountability, we stand as a trusted resource for Veterans, committed to their well-being, dignity, and successful reintegration into civilian life.
Veterans and Military-Connected Students via Harper College

a place for student Veterans to connect with other student Veterans to share information, experiences, and ideas in adjusting from military life to student life.
Many Veterans find the center to be a place where they can freely talk to other student Veterans about VA benefits, classes and overall transition to civilian life. The center also provides other services and resources, such as veteran scholarships, student advocacy, and the SVA (Student Veterans Association)
Student Veterans of America (SVA) via McHenry County College (MCC)

Creates esprit de corps among military students and student veterans! This organization provides an opportunity for these students to come together and feel a sense of connectivity and camaraderie, as well as promote advocacy and an understanding of issues pertaining to such individuals.
